#5239  frame and forks were in reasonable condition when purchased, but had been badly re-painted at some stage. I removed some extraneous braze-on bits and sent it away to Argos for full restoration.

My brother-in-law worked as a mechanic in a bike shop for many years,  so he was able to supply me with period correct parts that he had. I have built up the wheels with Campag hubs (incidentally the very first that came into the UK back in the day), Weinmann rims and SS spokes. Weinmann side-pull brakes, PIVO headset, aluminium bars correct for the period and a Brooks Swallow saddle.
